Stoneware Slow Feeder Bowl

Grog & Dewclaw

Grog & Dewclaw is a one room pottery above a net shed in Astoria, Oregon, run by Marit Solberg, a former veterinary technician who spent eleven years watching dogs choke down dinner in forty seconds and then bring it back up. She throws each bowl on the wheel from a speckled stoneware with grog for strength, pulls a raised spiral ridge up from the floor by hand so kibble has to be nosed out of the grooves, and fires it to cone 6 in a plum glaze tested lead free.
