Model One Headphone Amplifier

Tenth Octave

Tenth Octave builds single ended valve headphone amplifiers above a closed creamery in Brattleboro, Vermont. Two people run it, a repair tech who spent nine years inside broadcast consoles and a machinist who winds the output transformers on a lathe he rebuilt from a 1948 frame. Chassis are milled from solid aluminium and finished in a dark olive powder coat. The shop sells one amplifier and builds it to order, six at a time.
