Hedge & Hammer is a forge in a converted milking parlour outside Viroqua, Wisconsin. Ruth and her apprentice draw out each blade from 5160 spring steel, the same stock a leaf spring is made from, and hang the handles in ash cut from a windfall on the same road. They forge on Tuesdays and Thursdays and stamp the year on the tang, so a tool bought in 2026 says so for the rest of its life.
A maker selling a durable object that a buyer expects to keep for twenty years. Garden tools, knives, cast iron, brooms, ladders, buckets, anything bought once and repaired rather than replaced. The layout gives a long paragraph of material and process room to breathe under a short product name, because this buyer reads the steel spec before they look at the second photo. It suits a shop with one to a dozen products, photographs taken in the workshop, and a price that needs a reason next to it.
The style is Warm Artisan on the deep green variant rather than the terracotta one. Forge photography is orange in the fire and grey everywhere else, so a terracotta interface would sit on top of the pictures and fight them: the deep green pushes back against the rust in the photos and lets the terracotta accent do one job, which is carrying price and add to cart. The three brand facts are three separate lines under the hero because steel, handle and repair are three different objections, and folding them into one paragraph loses the two the reader was not already thinking about. The background stays warm off white so bare steel reads as silver rather than blue.
