A plum and marigold storefront for a two person cut and sew studio that dyes twelve shirts at a time.

Marigold Seam is a cut and sew studio on the third floor of a mill building in Lowell, Massachusetts. Thea Marchetti dyes and Roselyn Park sews, twelve garments to a batch, from 10.5 ounce cotton twill woven two floors down. Every shirt is overdyed in a 40 litre pot on a gas ring, which is why the plum on one shirt is half a shade off the plum on the next one.
A clothing maker with one garment, a handful of colours and a batch size small enough to count. Cut and sew studios, dyers, knitwear, made to order shirting, anything where the buyer is choosing a colour and a size rather than browsing forty products. The layout gives the garment a tall photograph and puts the size range and the fabric weight in plain text beside it, because a shopper who cannot find a 58 inch chest in ten seconds leaves and does not write to ask. It suits a shop that sells out of a colour and says so, rather than one that keeps a dead swatch on the page all season.
The style is Fashion Forward on the plum variant, not the black and pink one. The garment photography here is warm and ecru, so a near black interface would have cut it into rectangles, while a muted plum sits next to the fabric instead of fighting it. Marigold is held back to a single accent and the buy button stays near black, because the garment photography is already warm and a yellow button sitting on a warm photograph reads as a sale banner rather than a price. The three fact lines sit directly under the hero rather than inside the product description, because batch size, fabric weight and the flat price across all sizes are the three claims that make this shop different from a dropshipper, and inside a paragraph they read as filler.
