Two Cranks Press is a risograph studio in a former tire shop in Bloomington, Indiana, run by a printer and a bookbinder who met in a night class. They pull every sheet on a 1987 duplicator in two ink passes, blue then orange, and sew the books by hand on Thursdays. The store sells one thing: the Register Notebook.
A print studio, a stationer, a zine shop, or anyone whose product is made by a machine worth showing. The page opens on flat saturated color instead of a soft photograph, states the price high on the page, and gives the middle third to how the thing is printed and bound, because a $24 notebook is bought on process.
The style is Bold Modern on the blue and orange variant, which is the closest a web palette gets to two ink passes. Headings are uppercase sans at a size that carries flat color, buttons are square, and the product photography sits against white so the ink reads as ink. The fourth block is a materials band rather than testimonials, since the paper weight is the argument.
