Wren & Solder is a single bench jewelry studio on the second floor of a former grain elevator in Red Wing, Minnesota. Ida runs it alone, after six years setting stones behind a repair counter and one winter of saving for her own torch. Every band starts as a length of recycled silver wire, gets soldered closed by hand, then tumbles four hours in steel shot until the seam is gone. Nothing is plated, so nothing wears through to a different metal underneath.
Who this theme is for
A maker with a short catalog and a long story behind each piece. Handmade jewelry, ceramics, leather, small run homewares, anything where the buyer wants to know whose hands made it before they will spend 148 dollars. The light serif headings give a product name room without shouting, and the script logo reads as a signature rather than a logotype, which is right for a studio named after a person or a bench. It suits a shop with three to twenty products and real photographs of the work in progress.
What was decided in the brief
The style is Feminine Luxe on the rose variant. Jewelry photography is small, pale and close up, so the page cannot rely on the product to carry color: the interface does it, with a muted rose primary against a near black plum and a gold accent held back for price and add to cart. The three brand facts sit as separate short lines under the hero because soldering, sourcing and sizing are three different objections a buyer raises, and a paragraph hides two of them. Backgrounds stay warm white so a silver photograph does not turn grey against a cool page.
Questions
- Is this Shopify theme really free to download?
- Yes. You get a complete Shopify 2.0 theme ZIP and no account is needed. In your Shopify admin open Online Store, then Themes, then Add theme, then Upload zip file.
- I only have six products. Will the homepage look empty?
- No. The featured collection block sizes itself to what you give it, so six products fill one tidy grid instead of leaving gaps. If you have fewer, remove the section in the theme editor and the page closes up behind it.
- Can I change the rose and gold to my own colors?
- Yes. The palette is five settings in the theme editor. Change the primary and the buttons, the header, the links and the section rules all move with it, because no color is hardcoded in the CSS.
